5 treatment options for Vaginal Rejuvenation
A loose vagina can impact a woman’s comfort and sexual well-being. If you find your intimate moments less sensitive, unsatisfied, or painful, you may consider vaginal rejuvenation.
Vaginal rejuvenation is an umbrella term describing various vaginal corrective procedures. Vaginal tightening is one of them. This article intends to make you aware of the different treatment options available for tightening the vagina.
Symptoms of vaginal laxity
Usually, women can feel the laxity themselves. But if you are in doubt, consult a doctor. Some symptoms that may indicate vaginal laxity are:
- Loss of sensitivity
- Decreased sexual pleasure
- A sensation of something hanging loose and falling out of place
- Urinary leakage while coughing, sneezing while exerting physical pressure.
Benefits of tightening the vaginal parts
- Helps improve the appearance of the vaginal area.
- Helps reconstruct the vaginal canal and the internal muscles of the uterus
- Helps tighten the surrounding skin and tissues, mucous membrane, and other vulvovaginal components of the uterus.
- Helps tighten up a sagging or loose vagina resulting from vaginal delivery or ageing.
Treatment options for vaginal rejuvenation
Tightening vagina treatment involve removing the extra vaginal lining and tightening the surrounding tissues to return the vagina to its former size.
Few surgeries are designed for vaginal tightening and construction or reconstruction of the vagina. Instead, the surgery repairs a vagina to treat various medical issues, including vaginal injury due to childbirth and pelvic floor disease complications.
A vaginal vault is created between the rectum and the urethra. Through incisions, the surgeon pulls and cuts off extra skin from the back of the vagina. The surgeon then stitches the tissues under the top layer of the skin. Then the skin shuts over the deeper tissue is stitched.
Labiaplasty
This procedure is done to reshape and enlarge the labia in women. This is more appropriate for women born with irregular labia or who have developed irregularities due to the trauma of childbirth or growing age.
Vaginoplasty
This aesthetic procedure involves removing the extra vaginal lining and tightening the surrounding tissues to return the vagina to its former size.
Labia Majora Augmentation
This technique amplifies the labia majora. The labia are puffed up by injecting fat from another body part into the labia, stretching the creases.
Vulvar Lipoplasty
This augmentation technique uses liposuction to remove extra fat from the vulva, making the vulva appear less prominent.
Clitoral Hood Reduction (Hoodectomy)
The technique removes skin from the clitoris hood (head) to boost sexual pleasure. The process helps enhance a woman’s sexual pleasure by increasing stimulation.
Points to consider before tightening the vagina
- The recovery process takes a while; therefore, it’s important to consider the right time for vaginoplasty. You will need to avoid strenuous activities for 6 weeks or more.
- Surgical vaginoplasty is only suggested to women who do not have plans for any more children.
- If the lax is very less, try pelvic floor exercises or Kegel exercises. They aim at the muscle group supporting the uterus, bladder, and bowels. Studies suggest that strengthening your pelvic floor muscles could help your vagina feel tighter, but it doesn’t improve sexual pleasure.
Vagina tightening methods to avoid
Some women try “home remedies” to tighten the vagina, but unfortunately, they are neither effective nor good for the skin, as they may involve heat, chemicals, or products that may lead to skin irritation and burns.
Please DO NOT attempt vagina tightening using the following:
- Hot water
- Steam
- Aloe vera
- Douching
- Apple cider vinegar
- Herbal concoctions
- Toothpaste
- Menthol balms
